Floor Care Guide
Regular Cleaning
We recommend using Bona Floor Cleaners, which are specially formulated to clean hardwood floors without leaving any residue. Vacuuming often helps remove dirt and debris that can cause scratches. Always use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment designed for hardwood floors.
We strongly advise against using quick shine products or Murphy’s Oil Soap. These products leave a film on your hardwood, making future sanding and refinishing more difficult. Stick to cleaners specifically designed for hardwood floors to ensure the best results.
Protect Your Floors
To prevent scratches, place felt pads on all furniture legs. This simple step will protect your floor from the wear and tear of moving furniture. Additionally, avoid dragging heavy objects across the floor, and use area rugs in high-traffic areas for extra protection.
Long-Term Maintenance
Applying a fresh coat of polyurethane every 3-4 years will maintain your floor’s quality finish and protect it from damage. This process helps to preserve the wood and keep it looking as beautiful as the day it was installed.
